Who is Larry Nowlin

“Hello, Ecru! I'm Larry Nowlin, and I'm asking for your vote to be your next Mayor on June 3rd, 2025. This town isn't just where I've lived; it's my home, my heart, and where Kay and I have built our life for over 50 wonderful years. We raised our son, Todd, right here, and it's been a true joy to see our grandchildren graduate from North Pontotoc schools. Friendship Baptist Church has been my spiritual home for nearly as long as I've been here, and I'm deeply rooted in its community. For over 40 years, I've run my insurance and financial planning business, working alongside the people who make Ecru what it is – from our local businesses to our city services. I've rolled up my sleeves on construction sites, helped build our church, and even run a 350-acre farm right here in our beautiful countryside. I've traveled the world, but there's no place I'd rather be than right here in Ecru, MS. This town is in my blood, and I'm ready to pour all my experience and love for it into making it even better.”

As your Mayor, I will work every day to make our hometown of Ecru a better place to live! I want to see economic growth and improvement NOW. We can’t wait any longer. We need to revitalize our downtown, attract new businesses, and create good-paying jobs for our families. I want landmarks, such as the Mayfield house, to be a part of our history, and I will ensure that funding set aside for these landmarks is used appropriately, not diverted to other projects. NOW is the time to protect our heritage and invest in our future. 

NOW is the time to address our infrastructure challenges. I want to see our water utilities go down, not continue to rise. We will invest in fixing our roads, sidewalks, and public spaces, improving the quality of life for all residents.

NOW is the time to build a stronger and more inclusive community. With me as YOUR new Mayor, everyone's voice will be heard, and no one will be dismissed because of their class. Ecru is OUR town, and we need to make OUR town the very best it can be for everyone who is blessed to call Ecru, MS their home! NOW is the time for a mayor who listens, acts, and puts people first.
